In my attempt to recycle and generally do good, I put my sandwich crusts out on the lawn for the little birdies.
Today I had ham and mustard.
Is it wrong to give the little birdies bits of bread with mustard on it?

I dont think so the birds would just peck round what they dont like i put yorkshire pudds out if ant over and they love current buns.Keep up the good work and keep our featherd friends full up .http://www.rspb.org.uk/Images/2003_4814_002_robin_on_flower_pot_180_tcm3-58309.jpg

I'm not sure that birds have the same tastebuds as humans, I mean look at the crap they eat....so I don't think they 'taste' flavours like we do.
And mustard is mainly a natural product, so they should be able to digest it if they do fancy a beakful. You never know, it might keep them warm!
Go into your garden when it gets dark, see if there are any faint glows coming from the hedges & trees...if there are, maybe you should have pickle with ham in future.
Anyone know Bill Oddie's number?
Just kidding,

hehe.
I just have this horrid image of little birdies lying dead on in the garden, foaming at the mouth.
I like birdies and I dont want to be responsible for any mishaps.Good point re tastebuds tho, makes sense. If i were a bird i wouldnt eat what they eat, yuck!

This reminds me of a story of this guy in umm brighton I think..
The seagulls infested the town and a "group" of people feed some of them Alka Seltzer and the birds would just drop out the sky..
News papers reported it as a miracle!
Disclaimer: Don't feed birds or animals alka seltzer is very BAD!

If you throw out sage & onion sandwiches next time, they'll drop out of the sky ready stuffed.
