Hi
I m wondering, can you fuse glass onto unfired silverclay? Can that be done in any way in a kiln, ever fused glass should start cold unlike artsliver? have anyone succesful do that, maybe a fused glass in carved shape onto ring setting, not flat.

Hi, you can fuse a glass piece onto unfired silver clay, yes. Because the silver clay fires at a lower temp to the glass (should say what temp to fire on the packet of silver clay), the glass won't change shape in the kiln but will bond to the silver clay as it fires.

Yes you can but there are a number of factors you need to take into account.
1) The clay shrinks as it fires so dont make a setting too tight or it will crack the glass
2) Certain colours of glass may react with the silver as it fires and can discolour
3) Once fired cool the kiln rapidly to annealing temp then close the door and let it cool very slowly to room temp. (It helps even out the stress between how fast the glass cools & how fast the metal cools)

Well silver clay is also known as art clay. it looks like regular clay a potter would use but in a much smaller quantity. you can make anything from rings to earrings to pendants out of it. all you need to do is mold it how you want let it dry and then fire it in a kiln or use a torch.
