I'm new to this so if it doesn't make sense please excuse me. I've been looking at the new Cricut machine and wondered if anyone knows if there's a difference between the US model and the UK model?

I have no idea - sorry. Do they have a website that you could check? I would send them an email to check - I wouldn't have thought that there will be a difference but you never know!
