Hello,
I am having trouble with my Internet explorer. It is doing some very odd things.Sometimes it will completely close the page i am visiting for no reason or it will be very slow loading pages and when i say slow i mean very very very slow for eg i tried to google something and after 10 minutes of the page trying to load i gave up.I thought that it was perhaps the topic i was searching so i tried putting in random things to see if that made any difference but it didn't.Another problem i had was when i was on a forum and clicked on a link and nothing happened i tried to open a new tab and that wouldn't work either and it would let me access any options that are in my tools menu.i had to restart my computer.Just to let you know i have high speed Internet connection. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with this problem.

Right...................eeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr........ ........are you lost? This is a CRAFT forum, we do not use computers here, all our messages are created telepathically, there again, try upgrading to IE7 - then you'll see problems!

IE7 keeps saying bits of my site are 'phishing' - bloody thing! Takes a while for microsoft to un-phish them. BOO! Guilty until proven innocent it looks like!

A quote from my webhost

It appears you're using the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 browser. We're working hard to make sure everything on Freewebs is perfectly in synch with IE 7, but you might see a couple of curious things here or there while we sort through it. Thanks for your patience while we get everything in order.

My advise when my sister was having internet problems was to download Firefox and then use this and only this for all your web browsing needs :)

(I would add a link for you but this forum won't let me add links because I'm new! boo!! so for now you'll just have to google download firefox)

Firefox is great - I use it instead of IE. The new release of IE seems to be trying to be like Firefox - and failing in my opinion!

I've spent the afternoon comparing IE7 and Firefox, not much in it - other than seeing loads of plugs for Opera! I think it's horses for courses, if IE7 works for you it may not be worth changing, I think I'll stick with it until it breaks.

I thought that until hubby pointed me in the direction of Firefox although that was when the old IE was around. The old IE wasn't good at all but I haven't looked at the new one so I can't comment on the new IE.

I just found this - don't know if it's any help

Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB928089)

Brief Description
This update resolves a performance issue with the Phishing Filter.

When visiting certain web pages, the Phishing Filter may increase CPU usage while evaluating the page contents and the system may become slow to respond. This problem occurs on pages that contain multiple frames or when multiple frame navigations occur quickly. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A SECURITY UPDATE AND IF YOU ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE Phishing FILTER THEN YOU DO NOT NEED IT
