Did you hear on the radio that if the clothing sweat shops are forced not to use children the children are forced to find work elsewhere or have no money to buy food? So they leave a dry, fairly safe envionment to work in more dangerous conditions - with dodgy machinery etc.

I can't see how to shame govenments into providing free schooling and health care (which I think is the answer to a lot of ills) - look how anti half of America has been over helping their vunerable citizens.
Maybe the pressure should be on Marks and Spencers etc to set up creches and schools for the children of their subcontracted workers in the Fair Trade, Body Shop way.
