I host my site with pixel internet, at first they seemed ok but now their support is really just useless, they keep telling me things are outside their remit and i have to make sure everything goes into the public_html file
which is fine, but i cant seem to get it in there!
ok questions..
I have an existing site hosted there, I am uploading a completely new site, so I have uploaded the site from dreamweaver using the "put" option, so the new site is sitting there with the old... should I have deleted the old one first??
Using the "put" option has put the files in the wrong folder, normally its ok to move them into the public_html, but they dont seem to want to move.
I have a back up option, should I back up the whole thing, delete whats there and start again? deleting scares me!
many thanks

I wish I could help!!
All I know is... that when I update my website... (through filazilla) I delate all of the old website and uplaod the new version.
I find this works better than updating some files and not others.
Don't know if this helps??

Oh blimey don't know enough about this to help you either but I also completely delete my old site before uploading the new one - not recommending you do that though on my rubbish advice!!! I'm sure someone will be along soon who knows what they are talking about
hope you get it sorted

I don't use Dreamweaver or Pixel so I might not be much help but based on what I DO know ;)
* Does Dreamweaver not have an option to upload only the altered files? Or perhaps replace or something along those lines?
* I wonder if your new site is saved in a folder of some kind that your Public_Html folder isn't recognising so is allocating it as a child and putting it into a folder (Public would be the 'parent' folder and any sub-domains or file folders would then be the child of that parent)...
* Do you have any options to upload the new site to a specific URL - for instance YourDomain.com/public_html rather than YourDomain.com/public_html/folder - check the address where the new site has ended up and see if it looks like the first example (or similar) rather than the second...
Hope this helps
