hi everyone,
i've recently started selling my photography at craft fairs and am really enjoying it.
there are a few coming up in the run-up to xmas which i want to do, but there's one thing i'm not sure about and would like advice on:
i have a few large limited edition prints for sale - e.g. in a 60cm x 50cm frame. these are obviously quite heavy and so need to be hung correctly.
having never done this before, i have no idea what kind of apparatus i need to buy to hang these on, nor where to get it from!
can anyone help?
many thanks in advance!

I've never done this, so these are just ideas...
Have you thought about easels? You could get free-standing or table easels. www.artsupplies.co.uk (http://www.artsupplies.co.uk) has folding display easels for on a table quite cheap (under a fiver, I think) - I've not seen them on the website, but they are in their paper catalogue which I guess you can request from the website. No idea if they'd suit your purpose, but may be worth a look.
Depending on available transport space, you may want something tall to stand behind you - exhibition display, gridwall or similar.

Hi
Michelle and I hang our pictures up on two display boards that fit behind our 6ft table.
I made the display board and legs by getting some 2 x 2 wood and that board with the holes in (dont know what its called)
Anyway, painted it all up and seems to work well.
other than that what I would suggest is maybe book 2 table spaces, use one but for the other space place chairs across and put the framed prints on the chairs. People do like to get close to inspect your work so that might be an idea ?

Whe we do our larger shows we have about 12 ft and we either take shelving and use table top easels. works well, fits around 14 - 16 20 x 16 frames on the table. Or mesh panels - 6ft talls 2 ft wide they work well to.
The board i think you mean is peg boarding. Like a thin board with 1000s of round holes in

Much appreciated

have just come across your thread.
i use Maler Haley display boards. They're fairly robust, easy to assemble, strong , especially if the cross bracing is used and also they look good.
To hang my photos i use perlon cord (less stretchy than nylon). for more info give me a call.

Some useful suggestions here. I was thinking about the same subject yesterday as I balanced my photos on a table.
I found some small table top easels (29cm high so for small pics) on the Ikea website just now. They are only 69p  Prob not fantastic quality but it says they can be stained or painted as they are just raw wood. Would do for my 10x12 prints.

Easels are good as they fold flat so are easily transported. My local art shop has a good selection and you can pick up a table-top one which would take up to A3 for about £20. Best thing is to see what other people use at fairs, and to google for prices as online is usually (not always!) cheaper.
best of luck

I was in The Range last week, and they had full-sized floor-standing easels for £9.99.
