When I was about three years old, one of my aunts made an alphabet scrapbook for me and my newborn sister. It was twenty-six pages of family related objects and everyday objects arranged alphabetically. I remember it as being huge but I expect it wasn't. I have no idea what happened to it but reading this forum reminded me of it and the hours of fun it gave me as a child. It was so much better than the regular A.B.C. books I also had.

I'm expecting a baby in April and I've been full of crafty ideas and things to make for it. I'm going to get an 8x8 book and dedicate one page to each member of the extended family. Just one photo per page and embellished with all the things I associate with that person. Should be good to help baby understand about people they don't see too often.
Right - now I've posted this idea I've made it real, so I can get on and do it.
The alphabet book idea is great - my Nan helped by sister do a similar thing as a school project - I remember laughing as they had put 'knife' in the 'n' section!
