Hello from the Scottish Borders

Hi all

Hi I'm Flame and live and work in the scottish borders.

I have been making candles for over 10 years now and started making them as a hobby and gave them to friends and family.

My hubby designed a website for me all for the 6 candles that I made!!! and a couple of years later I set the business up as demand was high.

I now make over 50 different candles and am always experimenting with new designs.

Nice to know that there are still cale lovers out there, for a while candles were dying off I think because every shop under the sun sells them now and trying to explain to people that handmade candles are better is like geting blood out of a stone. hehe

I have the same problem with cards..now that places like Marks and Spencer have 'handmade' plastered over most of their cards I get the same response. 'But I can buy handmade cards anywhere now' No, they are not handmade, they are hand finished (whatever that means) it's still a printed, factory made card with an embellishment stuck on the front (usually badly, with glue showing) by someone in the factory!
If people are interested they will understand..unfortunately most of them are not! :mad:
