Hi there! Ok, help!

I did very few markets in last few weeks, so I guess it is time for me to register as a self-employed!
I have to be honest and say that I really don't know much about it, but info that I found on web is quite clear, and there is a plenty of help.

After checking application form for self-employment, I saw that you have to enter your business name. Now, this might be really stupid question, and it probably is, but I will still ask...you now better, and you have more experience that I do, for sure.
When I am filling my informations for self-employment, do I have to register business before that? Because there is a place where you have to enter your business name...I am the only one, no other employees, and I am planning to do only markets...so, I cannot write just on a form my name as a business name?! Or, as I asked, I have to register that previously and separate?

THANK YOU so much!

You don't have to register anywhere else unless you want to be a limited company, and that almost certainly won't apply to you.

You don't have to have a business name, or your business name could be your own name.

If there is just you, generally your business type will be "sole trader" though you can go down the route of a Limited Liability Company which will add a lot of unnecessary expense if your turnover is only modest.

As a sole trader, you can use your own name to trade, or you can have a trading name such as Downtown Funk. If you opt for the latter, you generally declare yourself as "joe bloggs trading as Downtown Funk".
