When we lost our house back in March we stayed with my brother and sister in law. It was her birthday while we were there, I'd got her a lovely card from Sunrise but didn't have any money for a present.

After we moved in to our new home and I got back to crocheting, she was looking through some of my patterns and really liked this one. So I made it for her, and when they came to see my on my birthday in May and gave me my present I gave her the cardigan gift wrapped and wished her a belated happy birthday. She was thrilled to bits with it and took it on holiday with her a few weeks later.

It was a lovely pattern to do so I made another one to sell in my Folksy shop.

Here it is.

If you want to see a bigger picture it's in my album.

What a lovely present, and you know it's what she wanted as well.

I am sure she appreciates it even more as she was probably not expecting it.

I think it is lovely to get a hand made gift.

I must say, the cardigan is absolutely gorgeous!

I have just started knitting again - I used to knit scarves for my dolls as a kid - and I am constantly amazed by the patterns out there for both knitting and crocheting. I remember as a kid my mom would knit me these really ugly looking sweaters. They were warm and great for the cold winter months, but I always wished they could have been prettier. And now they are!

Thank you for all the lovely comments.

As I said I made a second one to sell in my Folksy shop, it's a size 36" .

I would give a discount for forum members.
