If you had to choose your favourite craft which would it be.

My favourite is cross stitch I always had one on the go, my house is full of cross stich pictures, even went through a stage of designing for a while but didn't enjoy that as much.

Unfortunatly my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and so I cant do it any more because I get such headaches.

So now do lots of cards instead as it is not so trying on the eyes.

Would love to make some jewellery but same problem cant see the hole in the beads to thread the dam things:(.

Whats your favourite

I loooove card making! Thinking about getting into the design side of it all (toppers etc) but as I always have lots of ideas and not a lot of them have happened I can't see this one happening either! :D

Hi
I love card making too. I have craftroom full of stamps, paper, card emellishments, gadgets I haven't even used! A small fortune hiding away! I design backing papers for a living so, I am just feeding my card making obsession myself as well. Each time a design new papers I have to make cards with them don't I? To check they are fit for purpose!

Hello, well I still love Cross stitch even though I have done too many and there is no more room in the house. I've recently started a scrapbook too - I can see that getting addictive.
I've got a friend who makes some jewellery kits which don't rely on seed beads and are only moderatly fiddly. PM me if you are interested.

I love what I do with my 'wooden things', I find it so relaxing and theraputic, but the one craft I would love to have a go at and never have yet is pottery, hopefully will one day.

I also paint on canvas which I also find very relaxing. The one thing I am no good at is stitching, sewing, knitting or anything like that, me and needles in any shape or form just do not go together!!! Shame cos I do admire some of the things people can create, and would love to make dolls and bears or even clothes!!!

i like card making, like pressed flower card,it is very interested, the secondly is wool flower, have you hear of " wool flower"?

Wool Flower(Crochet flower) are valuable unique gifts for almost any occasion and delicate attractive decorations for almost any place. Taking Wool Flower(Crochet flower), for example, when compared with traditional plastic and silk flowers or any other kind of artificial flowers, Wool Flower(Crochet flower) have their own outstanding merits... 1. Wool Flowers(Crochet flower) are much stronger yet much more flexible and almost unbreakable as the frames are metal wires or metal rods. They can be shaped the way you desire so that they look like your own fine work or masterpieces... 2. Wool Flowers(Crochet flower) are hand-knit with caddice or wool strings whose color never fades away, so Wool Flowers(Crochet flower) can be kept as long as you like and their color stays unchanged. 3. Wool Flowers(Crochet flower) are much more environmental friendly, as the materials used are all recycleable or reusable. 4. Wool Flowers(Crochet flower) can create a feeling of warmth, harmony and elegance and will help make your life quieter, happier and more colorful. Your inquiries and OEM designs are welcome. Customers' designs will be kept strictly confidential.

Did you go on a course first to see if you liked it? What made you go into glass design?

handmadeheaven.biz
13-12-2006, 12:47 PM
yeah, i did a weekend course. i learnt quite a bit but i've learned more thru trial and error (quite a lot of that!) and reading up on techniques on forums and in books. i'm also a member of glass harmony, a forum for glass artists, and their help and support has been so valuable. without GH i wouldn't have gotten so far. it's good to have an outlet where you can get feedback and encouragement, as insular working isn't a good environment for developing your work and challenging yourself.

i've always been crafty & am a graphic designer by day so i've had many years of working with design and colour. i wanted to try something a bit challenging and glass has such a wonderful tactile quality about it and real longevity. i'd admired other glass artists' work in galleries and craft markets and thought i'd give it a go. it's the first skilled craft i've really felt at home doing and every day i love it more and more. i do still cut myself a lot and things dont always break where i want them too but they're minor down points for me. i especially love the fact that there's hardly any waste with glass fusing. i keep all my offcuts and they get used all the time as highlights in new pieces. :D

Mmmm - I quite fancy having a go at it at some stage! I can't believe you have a 'normal job' and still have time to do all your glass work too! Must organise my time better!

it's a lot of hard work! working mon-fri 9.30-5.30 then getting home around 6.30 and working on glass, jewellery and the website. there's so much more i could do if i didnt work in my day job but it pays the bills :) one day i may go part-time and focus more on the glass and the dream is for it to enable me to do it fulltime

I'm fairly lucky in that I can stay at home with the girls, look after them and also spend a lot of time developing the business - although I don't do much with the business at the moment! Hopefully I can get a bit more when Anya starts nursery in January!
