My crotch piece

I had to cut a small sycamore tree down two days ago and have been turning some pieces from the wet wood. This was from a crotch piece where the branches meet.
This a view of the top. It's approx 7" across the widet part and the bowl is 2" deep.

The bottom is round and I have a litle black pedestal for it to stand in as I didn't want to glue it on and hide this figuring

Lovely work as usual. Like Elaine I wasn't sure what I was going to be looking at with a name like "crotch" (I'm still recovering from all the Tudor cod pieces at Kentwell Hall last Friday :o)
