What is the best format to add text "Wedding Invitation " to the card to look profesional. I have tried outline stickers which are not consistent ( except always stretch!) and Stamping seems hit and miss.

...have you tried printing it on?

Not really., I did think of laser printing and hot foil - to emboss - to get the gold effect rather than a flat font.

Thanks for the suggestion

Catherine has just done a batch of invites for a friend and she printed the text inside using MS Word from the computer and hand wrote the text on the outside (yes it does take ages, but it's worth the effort). Depends on your printer really and whether it'll take card. If you want to hand write it on then a lightbox is worth it's weight in gold if you haven't got one.

Thanks for that. I am ok with the inserts, just wanted a gold embossed "Wedding Invitation" on front - to look the same as "professionsl" stationers.

Hi again,
Found this: http://www.twiddleys.co.uk/wholesale/590-1011-p-Wedding-CreamGold.html
..they also have banners with wedding invitation text you could stick on the cards.

I have just completed 120 invites and I used my HP to print on the inside and outside in a pale gray with a pink organza ribbon wrapped around the front, the bride collected them last night and is thrilled. In fact looking round less people are using silver and gold now as a normal printer offers such an array of colours which can be matched to the wedding theme.

I've just stamped and embossed the "wedding invitation" on over a hundred invites. They came out very well. In the end I had a production line going and the wording was the first application. I would stamp and add the powder in one go for twenty invites then heat those and then start again. I only scrapped four invites.

That's how I'd do it too. However if you're having no luck with heat embossing and you've got slopping, uneven writing then try this method...

Print the wording on the front of your card using very light grey and then with a gold pen go over that writing - only the gold writing will show and it'll look like you've got wonderfully neat handwriting on every single card :)

That's a great tip. (I can't give you rep for it though!)

My cards were 300g and unfortunatly too thick for my printer!

Hi, I did a batch of invites not so long ago using very heavy white hammer card which would not go through a printer. I ended up buying sheets of a lighter-weight matching card and printing the text on there and then cut the sheet down (I got about 30 per sheet). I then fixed these to the front of the cards with those tiny sticky pads. I printed in dark yellow/gold, which toned well with the pale yellow decoration. As long as you have a decent cutter, and a steady hand to stick them down straight, this works fine.:D

Yep I did something similar a few years ago for baby naming ceremony invites, the parents wanted pale pink pearlescent card blanks which wouldn't take the printer ink. I printed (in pink) on some white lightweight card, cut to size, matted it onto a darker pink card to create a little 'banner' dipped the sides of each banner into glue then irridescent glitter and mounted with foam pads. I also used some little baby toppers from Ruth at TipTopToppers fame ;) to finish them off, the parents loved them and even thanked me during the ceremony speeches http://www.craftsforum.co.uk/images/icons/icon11.gif
