They're great, and a great idea. I like the red flowers and the blue one best too. I'm curious though, were the patterns already there on the bags, or did you have to do something to them?

The pink one! :D Looks like it belongs on a girl's book-bag or mummy's shopping bag :)

The patterns were already on the bags, the greyish one is a black debanhams bag inside a white H&M one! it came out really well i thought, better than expected! I'm going to put a button in the centre to make them look a bit prettier :} The one with flowers on is a bag ive saved for ages waiting for some kind of inspiration of what to do with it!!

How do you fuse them together with aniron without them melting and sticking to the iron?

I put them between two pages in a large sketch book and ironed over it. the one with flower print on did stick slightly at first but once it cooled it came away fine.

These brooches are so cool. I hate sewing so fusing with the iron is always good fun!

I've cut old bags into long strips, and knitted/crocheted with them to make really cute shopping bags

I agree with the knitting. I've also cut them into smaller strips, and tied them around a stretched coat hanger to make 'wreaths' for Christmas crafts.

Read in a book today that you can recycle carrier bags by knitting with them. Cut the bags into strips (much like a fancy yarn really) and just knit. You can also combine a strip of plastic with yarn and knit the two together for an interesting effect.

I just read about cutting old jeans into the loops just as you would a carrier bag, looping them together for knitting...bet you could combine the plastic bags with some denim for a sturdy bag!

That is such a brilliant idea! Reminds me of a company I saw at my last craft fair called pet:CELL where they re-use plastic bottles for jewellery. :)
