View Full Version : Moulds, creating stone-ish effect using silicon

Yes we've all seen this on the telly, but where on earth do you get the silicon or silicone to do moulding? I saw some nice lion's heads on TV somewhere, where a lady pushed the sculpture of a lion's head into the silicon/e and filled the resulting 'hole/mould' with plaster (Mixed with some sand, she said).

silicone is very expensive,,,,,,youd be better off using latex rubber, then make a supporting jacket. 10th of the price.

You can buy clear silcone for bathroom sealing at hardware shops v. cheap if you buy the big 'push through' tubes.
