Is it just me or are all the decent dressmking fabric shops disappearing. I spent pretty much the whole day yesterday looking for online fabric shops selling dressmaking fabrics but the majority seem to sell either upholstry and drapes or quilting fabrics. Where do you get yours from? I am looking for very good quality corduroys (printed or embroidered prefereably), cotton velvets and hard wearing cottons (twills) in muted tones for xmas fayres, thank you

Hiya,I know what you mean, my local fabric shop has now mostly got curtains and cushions etc, I suppose thats were the money is.
I love www.fabricland.co.uk I made a dress with their material the other week.

Agreed very hard to come by now, I have used fabricland and also efabrics/chawlas (http://www.efabrics.co.uk/)

Most of the fabric shops have closed near me as well. http://www.abakhan.co.uk/ have a good selection of dress fabrics, with reasonable prices too.
