This thread is in a similar vein to CraftyJen's recent one although from another angle. BTW that contained a lot of great advice and help especially from the bank of experience available here.
I am starting to produce a lot more candles (and assessories) now for friends, family and a widening network of other people which is providing some much needed funds for materials and making my hobby a step closer to 'self sufficiency' if a long way from profit.
My request is to do with any statutory or legal requirements needed for areas such as safety etc. I have done some research and found certain Euro rules on the horizon in this area but I get the impression at the moment there is not absolute rules and reguations for things like safety notices.
I have designed a flyer with my basic knoweldge of WORD which incorporates a number of things including a list of RISK WARNINGS in using different types of candles. I give this out with every candle (bit of advertising if nothing else) In addition, I have found some very useful safety stickers pre-printed which I attach to every container/box.
I have been thinking of taking my efforts and details along to the local Trading Standards and getting their imput on anything else I should do or change. Has anyone else done a similar thing with success (or not) or is their another agency I should approach?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
