Hi All
Although I am an avid beader, suddenly I want to have a go at Pergamano. From what I have seen the equipment is very expensive. So, I need some advice - would it be best to get a kit and see how I get on? Would a kit contain all the stuff I need - there just seems to be so much in the way of tools etc. Suggestions would be much appreciated. Have a lovely day.

"most" crafts seem to be geared towards making suppliers rich! :D I am sure that some of the tools and equipment can be improvised - I use a tapestry needle in an old leadless pencil as a pricking/punching tool so it cost me pennies.. but I guess you need to know "what you need" before you can decide whether to buy or make alternatives..
I know there are several courses and clubs round here, most of which are only a few pounds.. and I would have thought a great way to see if you enjoy it.. and also get advice about what the "essential" tools are, and what are "luxuries" you can save up for or put on your birthday and santa lists..;););)

Hi, thanks for the advice, I guess the best thing to do would be buy a book - I'm quite good at improvising so the tools should be ok. Your Sparky looks exactly the same as my Zippy who I lost last year - age 13. I miss her like mad but also have brilliant memories.

Hi Melsie
I do parchment craft, be prepared to become addicted, if you try it. Where are you based, if it isnt too far from me i could show you some work and maybe lend you a few tools to have a go, on a short term loan
love

:)Hi Cindy
How kind you are. Unfortunately I live in Kent but it was a fabulous offer. I have decided to get a book first and go from there. I normally do beads - still am but love trying new things.
It may not come to anything but it looks so pretty and have thought about it for a while. I have a birthday coming up soon so I could put a starter kit on my wish list.
Have a lovely week and thanks again.
