Does anyone do this and know of where to get the equipment? I was thinking it might work out cheaper as you could just do a half a dozen or so of each, rather than 20-30.

You can make your own but you'd need a vacuum forming machine (£3000+ for one with a decent pump) and Polypropelene plastic sheet to mould them in. Polypropelene is similar to Tupperware plastic and is very hard to mould. The main problem is it needs very high temperature to soften it (its opaque white cold but turns transparent once molten, it then returns to opaque white when cold) As you may guess I have used this before (many years) and to be honest its a nightmare to use with nasty fumes etc and also it has a habit of damaging the master models due to the heat. Its a shame because its a VERY tough plastic and resin won't stick to it so no mould release needed.
Your best bet is doing some searches on internet for resin casting moulds made of Polypropelene.
Hope this helps
