My lovely hubby has arranged for a friend of his who is a web designer to revamp my web site for FREE!!! However, having said he will do it I am now twiddling my thumbs waiting for him to call and I don't really feel I can pressure him when its a freebie. So I have decided to do something in the interim myself. My new venture is childrens and baby clothes, I have some stock made up but need some advice how best to photograph them.

Many thanks Karen

It's a hard one where photos of children are involved.
Personally when I buy clothes online for my children, I like to see a picture of the clothes on a child, as it gives a better idea of how they look, what length it is, how baggy it is etc...
I also think it's quite nice if they aren't too 'posed', nice natural pics are always better!

Thanks for the pointers - I am trying to convince some Mums to lend me their little cuties and am getting a fairly good response. Now I just need to work on my photo taking skills - hmmm... Have posted my first album if you'd like to take a look at what I am up to.

Your clothes look lovely, but I agree they'd probably be best photographed on a child. The skirt photos are good as they show the fullness of the skirt, so maybe this could supplement a child photo.

I don't suppose you could approach a college and ask if photography students would like a project? It may swing it if you mention the NAS connection? Otherwise, I'm no expert but photographing outside on not-too-bright a day may give you pretty good results.

Your clothes are lovely, I agree they need to be photographed on children. Why don't you think about childrens clothing companies who might be on the net already and see how they do it. There are some famous names who photograph childrens clothes well. Next, Pumpkin Patch,Vertbaudet to name a few.
