Today I made my second rope basket. I am using it as a planter and I'm pleased with it - I think I'm getting the hang of this now. The whole thing is made from beach combings. The base is a bucket lid, the sides and bindings are rope. I have lined it with a rabbit food bag and it's now home to a lavender plant.
... and yes, my fingers are sore and there's a blister where I pulled the bindings tight!

That is lovely - when I lived on the Isle of Arran we used to find all sorts on the beach - I used many of the drift wood in plant/floral decorations.
Well done

You've made something lovely out of your finds and the lavender looks just right. I've seen that type of lavender before, is it French lavender or Butterfly lavender, something like that...do you know? It's very pretty :)

Thanks, I think it's a butterfly lavender.

Very neat. I like the 'tail' as well as it adds that little touch to it. Be interesting to see what you make of any old mooring rope you find:)
