Hello everyone,

I just have a very quick question.. Do you know the name of the powder used in the "prick-and-pounce" method of transferring embroidery patterns is called? I have seen it called "pounce" on several american websites but when I search to buy it in the UK, I can't find it anywhere! I am assuming that is has a different name here but I haven't been able to figure it out.

If you're wondering what I am talking about, here is a link to the method:

Ideally, I'd like to be able to buy the powder and the brush tool together so if you know a name for the brush tool too, that would be great!

Any suggestions welcome as I am totally lost, even after 2 hours of googling! :(
Thank you very much,
Nuky.

I would have thought you could use any tailors chalk, several colours available, grate into fine powder, then pounce using a colour duster from stamp addicts

Caroleecrafts: Thanks, that's a great idea. It didn't occur to me. Just looking around for a good brush now.

Steffi: I couldn't find the powder stuff on that page but there are some brilliant marker options there. I think I'll invest in one of them for free hand embroidery.

Thanks for your replies! :)
