I cant remember if Ive bored you with this before but its really bugging me.
I put an acetate picture between 2 bits of glass, place copper foil tape round the edges then solder round that.
Whenever i do this a kind of 'sweat' appears on the picture, like a liquid has seeped in and made the picture blotchy. It looks horrid.
Are any of you solderes, or know of anyone that is?
Im sure its just a case of the heat from the soldering iron make some kind of vapour which makes its way under the glass but I just wondered if anybody knew how to solve the problem.
Suppose i could use paper pictures but I like the idea of acetates.

Mini breakthrough.I noticed it only sweats on one side, my boss pointed out the picture is printed on the same side so its the pic thats reacting to the heat.
Ive already tried cutting the pic smaller so its not as close to the heat but it still sweats.
any ideas?

Seahorse it doesn't suprise me at all! I don't know how many times I have ordered stuff and then sat in the dark not knowing what was going on. Once I chased up about an item I had ordered and was informed it was out of stock but ' hadn't thought to let you know, didn't think it was important!' they are quick enough to take your money up front though, that was obviously important !
Moan over!! Hope you get your laminator soon.

I went to the shop Im getting the laminator from and i noticed they had 2 laminators on the shop floor, I tried to talk to someone to find out if mine was the same as one(ive since found out the prod ref) of those so I could take it but no one was availbale to talk to.
I just phoned up the shop and they had the same ref number laminator there, so I explained the situation (as Im impatient and hate waiting especially when I dont know how long I have to wait).
Sadly they said I couldnt have it as its the shop stock not the warehouse stock and there would be a big price difference.
Fair enough but rather annoying.

I got my laminator, it seems a bit naff as if I cut a picture after its been laminated the pouch comes unpeeled from the picture.
Anyhoo, I tried soldering the laminated pics between pieces of glass, the same watery effect happened so I was a tad narked off but I went back an looked at it about 2 hours later and it had gone!!
i tried it again and it went well.I think it has alot to do with the amount of time I hold the hot soldering iron on the area.I have to perfect my craft re soldering. Its gona take alot of practice!
