Felt - handmade style

Designs by India Flint, Toyoko Sugiwaka

Published by Murdoch Books, ISBN 1 74045 882 6

RRP £12.99 but I bought it fairly recently at £3.99 and I'm sorry but I can't remember where, could well have been the Grosvenor Garden Centre near Chester, so you may find it in similar places or The Works.

Waterstones do have it online (http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/advancedSearch.do?buttonClicked=2&title=&author=&bookkeywords=&price=&age=&format=&subject=&isbn=9781740458825) at the RRP.

This book is is an excellent buy for everyone from the beginner to the experienced felter, with very good photos of both techniques and finished articles.

It covers a very wide range of techniques with lots of inspiration.

why would you make your own felt?

To save money! To produce something that's different and unique! To express themselves!

Felt never used to be my cup of tea (before I found the CF obviously ;)) and although I will probably never work with it myself (I get goosebumps if I touch felt, I'm a bit weird) I have seen some fab, USEFUL and seriously cool items made from felt in here.

ElaineJ,
Thanks for your recommendation on the book. Ill have a look. Always looking for new ideas, though dont think the hubby will be happy with another felting book around!!

As for "Why would you make felt!"

Because it is a wonderful material to work with. It doesnt just come in square sheets. Wool can be manipulated into wonderful objects. Its also very relaxing and stress releasing to work with. ;)
