I brought a printer from china, stating that it could print directly onto candles. You have to coat them first in a sort of pvc coating. once this is dry you put them into a machine that is just like a printer but bigger, choose your design, press the button and away you go........
sounds simple you say???? ha ha ha well ........the tricky part is getting the coating right on the candle. The liquid they send is only available from china and is quite expensive. You have to dip the candles in it or paint it on using the spongey devise they send, however, its alot more difficult actually doing it. Ive wasted alot of time and effort trying to get the coating even. I ve been trying to find numerous alternative coatings that i can get my hands on but no success as the ink just does not adhere to it!!! I was hoping maybe someone had also brought a printer and had come across something. (no such luck)
The actual print quality is good, on average it takes about 3 mins to do a candle depending what print you have on it.
I brought a flower printer at the same time and this is supposed to work in the same way however the print qualty is not so good sometimes.
Can anyone suggest a coating i might try?
look forward to hearing from anyone..............soon lol

I never knew such things existed.. sounds great, if you can get it to work.
Best of luck! :)
Hmm ... nothing is ever quite as straightforward as it sounds, is it?! I recall coming across someone AGES ago on another forum who'd been having some issues with their printer candle ... will have a quick search and see if I can find details!
ETA: Nope, can't find that other post I mentioned. I did come across your earlier post about the coating though - it leaves streaks if you try to paint it on and bubbles if you dip it, right? Can you post any details of exactly what the coating is made from? Someone might be able to suggest an alternative product - or alternative application method.

Unfortunatly I dont know what its made of. It looks and dries like pva glue but i ve tried this and when printing on it the ink just doesnt adhere to the coating. This coats ok and doesnt leave any marks but not much use if the print doesnt stick to it. lol
It looks like its some kind of polyeuthane??? coating? (not sure i ve spelt that right)
It doesnt smell of anything, white substance.
any suggestions lol
I know its a bit of a tricky one.
It may be like the decal paper that you can buy although you have to coat this with sealent. Dont know what thats made of either. Im not much use am i ha ha??
I cant believe i may be the only one to have invested in such a thing!!!!
Me is thinking that i ll be sending for the very costly coating liquid from china.....better raid my piggy bank.....lol

Even if you haven't bought their package you might be able to buy the fluid from them.

Hi there,
I havent a clue when it comes to a candle printer as I've never heard of one before, what I was thinking though is silly as it might sound but have you tried printing onto the candle without using the glue stuff and then possibly using a sealant afterwards???? When I had a go at using decal paper and sticking onto candles I used a sealant from B & Q it's called plasti-kote krystal clear and you spray it on the candle and leave to dry giving it a water proof coating. Sorry I can't be of more help
Good luck

Hello Weanmaz,
I have read your message (below) concerning the candle printer. Unfortunately, I cannot help with your question because I am on the verge of buying the same printer myself. However, I would like to ask you a couple of questions, if that's ok with you - Have you managed to solve the issue with the pre-coat? How are you getting on with it? Would you be interested in selling it or even giving a demo?
I am going to attempt to tackle the same issues as you and it would be really good if you could contact me so that we may be of help to each other.
Looking forward to your reply,
All the best,
Arteus
