Hello,
I've been reading this forum for ages but this is my first post.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to adhere a glass ball (quite large, 5 inch diameter) to a sheet of glass, on a temporary basis.
The glass ball will always be on top, but might be banged into slightly so i need it stuck, in some way.
I would need to be able to remove it when i want and have no marks or scratches left on the glass or glass ball.
Obviously it needs to be clear.
I was trying to find a strong clear rubber glue that doesn't set completely but have had no luck.
Any suggestions (polite) welcomed.
Thanks

Silicone sealer? It won't stick that hard, but might do the job...

I would have also suggested silicone.

I've used silicone adhesive for glass stuff before.

You can buy a tube from craft shops, it's the same stuff as they use for decoupage.

that sounds interesting, what was the particular silicone you used, and was it temporary?

I used ordinary builders silcone sealant - the stuff you get in the DIY shop. It's very sticky, and dries sort of solid but rubbery - you can peel it off glass, but it takes some work.
Craft shops will sell you a small expensive tube of "craft silicone", Wilkinson's or any DIY shop will sell you a large cheap tube of "builder's sealant"! Comes in lots of colours - the clear one goes on white and squishy, washes off with water when wet, dries rubbery and translucent and waterproof.

I've used it for all sorts of odd things - probably the oddest is running a bead of it round the inside of a leather drinking-horn fitment, to hold the polished horn that rests in it firmly without harming it!

hi use uv glue used in the glass industry for bonding bevels to glass but you need to use uv light to cure or you can buy white light cure hope this helps

If you use UV and an ultraviolet light you will never part the two!

Silicone is a good choice and cheap too. What about gallery glue?
