I'd love to, but being an aged thicko I still haven't deciphered how to link to photos! I can upload, no problem. I cannot, after 5 years of trying, get to grips with putting a link in! That's why I keep a freewebs site going - if you wanna see 'em, look on the site!

Now there's the problem - if the image is in my computer I can't 'enter url'! I've no intention of using 'photobucket' or any 'bucket' - I'm so paranoid about the web that I'd starve before I went onto e bay, let alone phtoanything!

Hi,
This is one of my favourite necklaces.

It's Turquoise beads with a 24kt White Gold Venetian heart decorated with the Fenicio design, hand-painted with aqua-coloured molten glass.

I've been asked to do a commission for this and make one in green.

Thanks for that.

Your website is lovely, takes me back a year or two (right okay, okay a decade or two) to when I had my dolls house. I remember redecorating the outside of the house with the most lovely shade of scarlet nail varnish - my mum was none to impressed - totally ruined the house. I don't know if my mum was more annoyed that I had wasted her nail varnish or the fact that my DIY had ruined any chance that she would be able to flog the house when I got too old for it!!

I guess the 25 rule means that you have to post 25 times in order to upload photos. Oh the time needed on this machine. Well you shall all just have to come to Flickr to see my latest.
Ally was meant as a fundraiser for the Ayr Tartan Army but the guys fell in love with him instead of putting him in the auction they bought him as their mascot and he is going to the Scotland Italy game this weekend. What has the bear got that I haven't. Maybe you better not answer that.

The 25 rule is to keep the forum exclusively for crafters. We all see posters joining forums just to post their URLs, this way you only get to post pics or URLs if you're serious about staying with us.................makes sense eh? :)

‘Surf’ Sufferer

Some ISPs (Internet Service Provider) aren’t necessarily that ‘friendly’ with the internet. My ISP provider is AOL and they certainly aren’t ‘friendly’ with some sites and other providers, something about AOL doing things there way but why they want to run a different standard to anyone else is beyond me. I looked at putting an image on the thread (even though I don’t actually make anything crafty) but found that AOL was not going to play ball, it’s not the first time that this has happened either. AOL is not particularly friendly at the best of times.

Wow - Chris, I LOVE your dangly bracelet, it's so pretty and delicate looking. And Jo W, what a gorgeous professional-looking bangle. I wish my jewellery looked as classy as both of those.

Love your amethyst bracelet - its my kinda jewellery.

Sorry but I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to chakra jewellery. Whilst I love Swarovskis and use them all the time, I believe the whole point of chakra is the healing stones so I only every use natural gemstones - don't see the point of using glass crystals. But not wanting to poop your party, it is a very pretty bracelet and no-one matches the sparkle of Swarovski.

Some people believe colour therapy to do with chakras can be done with colours not just gemstones :) so everyones happy as i do both.

Hello

Here is an example of some book related boxes I made a while ago, what I like about them in particular is the marbled papers we used, we made them ourselves and I love the wave effect we got.

Here is a picture of one in particular

http://www.edenworkshops.com/case-for-music-copy.jpg

Being based in Somerset at the time, we had access to a lot of sheepskin and that is the leather these boxes are covered in.

All the best.

I too have fallen foul of the 25 post rule - however, I do intend being here for some time to come.

In the meantime, I have a website with illustrations of my work. Also, I love getting feedback - however bad it may be lol

Don't hold back - be hard on me! I have a skin like the stone that I work... HARD! Besides, I'm my own harshest critic.

Many thanks!

Be lucky!

Too many people to single you all out individually but... WOW! What a talented bunch of crafty folk you are!

There's a great deal of amazing work here, along with some very talented people. To say it's impressive is something of an understatement.

Keep up the good work, peeps!

Be lucky!

saying that, the vintage look still seems to be quite popular amongst youngsters atm so i've been doing lots of that kinda stuff too.

i mainly trawl ebay for old vintage jewellery which i chop up :o and stick back together in different ways, also carboot sales and jumble sales are really good cause they sell stuff off so cheap. other than that theres a few bead shops i use, but i wouldn't say i get anything that different to the norm at them. ooh and whenever i go to canada i raid every micheals and dollar store i can find. their dollar stores are amazing for craft stuff, not fair!

I recently had a meeting at a shop on my local High Street, and the owner of the shop wanted to keep everything I took as samples to sell!

I went back today to see my display and to take a little laminated sign I've made saying more about my ceramics and that I make pieces to order or commission.

I'm not sure about the arrangement of the work, I think I would have displayed it a little differently but I'm just so glad to have my work out there in a new venue.

Beautiful designs. I'd love to see that plate/dish at the back left and take the cards out of that superb tray/bowl. That little blue coaster/candle holder right at the front is lovely, how big is it please? Can you tell I love the colours and designs, really gorgeous :)

C Hupfield Ceramics
09-05-2009, 11:20 AM
Thanks Nettie!

I know what you mean about being able to see the dish at the back, I would have tried to display them a bit better so that each item could be seen more. Customers in the shop would probably be too scared to pick things up.

The shop has a big wall full of white cube spaces all the same size, with glass shelving. So Ive only got one cube to work with.

The blue piece at the front is actually a magnet! The sign that I made and took to the shop yesterday says that I can make things to the customers personalised requirements, such as a different shape/colour/style etc, and I'm giving the customers the choice of having a name/word/phrase engraved or written onto the surface. The owner of the shops thinks this will go down quite well...

C Hupfield Ceramics
09-05-2009, 11:22 AM
Cant give you rep points nettie as already given you some on another thread today... the blue magnet is approx 5cm diameter.

As part of Northamptonshire Open Studios 2009, I held an open day at the local Evergreen Gallery (http://www.evergreengallery.co.uk) last weekend where I was making new work alongside a big display of my ceramics. Members of the public were welcome to come in and watch me making, ask questions etc. It turned out to be a great day and I really enjoyed the experience.
My work will be on show at the Evergreen Gallery in Daventry throughout the rest of September.

http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww276/lildevilchar/gallery1.jpg

I also have some of my framed prints on display, I think they work well to compliment my ceramics.

http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww276/lildevilchar/gallery3.jpg

The gallery did a great job of promoting and advertising the event.

http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww276/lildevilchar/gallery2.jpg

These flyers were handed out around the town on the day. I got a few commissions which I am really excited about!

I'd love to put some pictures on to show what I'm making, but the 25 rule is stopping me. :(
However I have not long finished knitting some fingerless mittens (pics are in my profile), making a table cloth and some placemats, and a draft excluder.
I have just started making mobile phone holders that will be xmas prezzies. I'm also going to make some mini stockings with my families initials on for them:)
I love to have a couple of things on the go at once.:jippie:

Update! Now i can so my pics off. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2469/3937067176_54dfe18cc6.jpg

Just experimenting with some photo images as although my main focus is personalised lamps I am looking to create a couple of 'stock' lamps that I can sell too!

The one I have made has the daisies on one side and the tulip on the other but I think I would sell them as one or the other? Or maybe both too!?!

Those are nice, who doesnt like sunshine and flowers!

I thought I'd post some red jewellery as ppl dont normally wear red. Im not making many pieces in sterling silver and swarovski anymore (except for components) and trying to make funky affordable pieces and i like copper and the antique finish ones. Maybe it's going backwards in jewellery making but a lot of people just want simple glass jewellery.
I made the ribbon one using pieces from a fabricstore and a pendnt i cut from a necklace i bought new.

Hellooo!

I'd seen this really cute little dress on celebs such as Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Rachel Bilson, Jessica Simpson, and some girl from Charmed (but I don't watch it so I don't know her name...) Any who, I loved it so much, and couldn't afford the dress, plus it's from the US and I'm from the UK, so shipping and customs duty was an issue too... (I eventually gave in and bought the pink/orange/red version anyway!)
SOOOOOO I made my own.

Original dress.. I admit yes, these two are irritating, but the dress is soo sweet and perfect for the summer, how could you not want one?

My version, made out of 3 T's:

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b163/lou_kr/DSC00446-2.jpg

I cut them up, stitched them back together... and this is what I got:
the cat wanted to be in this one!

How unusual. I have often wondered how you do that, it looks really fiddly. I wouldn't have the patience. I do like it.

I found out why the pictures were not showing, the remote files were too big for some reason.

I'm sorry, but I can't find the user cp>Options>Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Toolbar. And I can't see the symbol as well.
