I need a name!!
Recently Topshop had some great clothes in designed by someone who had been big in the sixties - and I can't remember her name!! They are big bold patterns and I want to be able to search for the clothes on ebay - now that I am no longer pregnant I can look for these things! Kate Moss was seen wearing one of the dresses (red and cream from what I can remember) if that helps anyone!
If anyone can help me out with the name of this woman I would be very grateful

Did Twiggy do M&S? No idea. I think if you put Topshop in the search you'll find the stuff.

It's not Mary Quant or Twiggy! I've tried looking at the topshop website but it only shows current collections and the designer I want isn't doing anything at the moment. I've tried searching on google and ebay with the words topshop and 60's but nothing comes up! I'll see if anyone else can come up with the name - if not I'm just not meant to have the gorgeous dress I saw! :rolleyes:

The only other 60s designers I can think of were Jeff Banks and Zandra Rhodes.

Nah, none of those - if only it were that easy! I've since seen another picture of Kate Moss in the same designer from topshop but it didn't say what the designer was called! I think I will have to search for websites on Kate Moss and hope that it mentions her clothes.
After all of this I'll bet there is no - one out there selling the stuff! :rolleyes:

Found it - it's Celia Birtwell!! I'd never heard of her until I saw the stuff she had designed for Topshop and thought I must have that!!
Right - off to ebay now........ :D

She was married to Ossie Clark and designed lots of the fabrics that he used in his clothes so I'm going to look up Ossie Clark stuff too but I think it might be out of my price range......

Ooooh has it - I'll have a look later.
Typical of course - her stuff sold out very quickly in Topshop and the only thing in my size on ebay is the dress I really like but it is £69.99 - it retailed at about £45 I think. There is a dress the next size down thats at £20 at the mo but I'm in two minds about that as I might never get down to a size 14! I'll have to see and be nice to my hubby!

Bea - if you are interested in similar styles then I was in Primark in Preston last week and they have some flowery/floaty shirts that are very similar for £8 - I had to buy the one in teal and red!!

Maybe they'll have my size - it's all 8 and 10s on ebay!! Thanks. I might just find my way to Primark in the near future....;)

Just an update if anyone is interested - there is a new Celia Birtwell collection coming out at Topshop on Monday!!!!! It's only in the London store however but apparently you will be able to get it online in the early hours of Monday morning - guess what I'll be doing!!
