I made a cushion!!

My new 'thing' is making cushions,I bought a bolster cushion about 20" and a square cushion about 16".So far I have plans for the square cushion but not done anything yet.
I couldnt resist the bolster cushion.
I receieved the pictures on fabric from Canada last week.
I bought some moss coloured taffeta so it has a nice shimmy to it.I then bought and sewed on 3 shades of ribbon, moss green, brown and gold, layered going all the way round it, sewed on a picture, I think its by Rosetti of a ginger haired lady smelling a flower, she has pearls in her hair.I sewed it slighly covering the ribbon.
The ends were sew to a small circle so it looked ruffled, then I added pearls round the ends to match the ladies hair.

I think it looks unfinished but I think as a first attempt I should be proud.I keep looking at it on my sofa.

If you really start getting into cushion making then Poundland do the inners for, you guessed it, a pound!! May as well get your supplies as cheaply as possible :)

Cushions can be such fun to make. I've never done a bolster one though, I tend to stick with square ones and like using rustic fabrics with primative designs.
