I use freecycle to get old discarded copper hot water tanks, having offered something first. I cut them up down to a managable size and then make jewellery and pictures using enamels. 1 tank lasts me about two years. I also knit with copper electrical wire which I find at car boot sales.

As I am new to this website I cant put my websites up yet but there is a link under my name to my website and on the news page on this site there is another link for people wanting to find out more about how to start enamelling and how I cut up the water tank.

Fantastic designs

I remember enamelling at school. I made a butterfly out of copper and then enamelled it with blues and yellows, I can still remember it placed on a little shovel which I had to hold inside the oven/burner thing.

No idea what happened to it (that must be 28 years ago now!) but I remember it being great fun!
