My favourite square mold has cracked!!:mad:

I opened up my kiln this morning and there it was a great big crack in one corner, I think it runs all the way across.

Are molds meant to do this? is it cause it's 2 years old?

I guess you are using a plaster/flint/crystobalite mould (white in colour) yes?
If so its true, they only have a limited lifespan.
I'm not really sure why glass slumpers are so keen on using these type of moulds. I made some for my wife from a coarse clay and they are still going strong.

Yes you are quite right, it was a white mold.

Do you know of any where I can purchase a stronger mold?
