........of waiting for this baby to arrive!
I've still got three and a half weeks to go but they are going to incude me on the 19th (hopefully) due to a pelvis problem. But really fed up and the fact that I can't move easily and can't pick up my 2 year old is starting to get annoying - that and the hot weather!! Most of my friends think I'm mad but I'm looking forward to the birth and getting this baby out.
I feel better now that I have had this little rant :D
Lynsey
P.S. Any advice on going into labour naturally would be much apreciated!!!!!

I know what the wait is like and I sympathise with you, I was induced with both my boys........ a whole 2 weeks after due date. They were just way too comfortable where they were!

Well at least I know that this one isn't going to be overdue - thats something at least! Well it's another sunny day here - lets hope it's not too hot!

Offer lots of sympathy and hope it's a winter birth!!!!! Done lots of sorting this morning so I'm feeling happier than yesterday. Perhaps I'll post later with a good day report :D

Ok - starting to panic a bit now as it's only five days to go until they induce!!! Not actually panicing about having the baby - just trying to get the house sorted! I have got too much stuff and it seems to breed - and have the ability to move from one room to another!
Just spent two hours cleaning my bathroom  but at least now I have clean grout and sorted cupboards etc :D
Off to clean the oven in a minute when I've had my cup of tea - I must be mad!

Ive heard sorting the house out is called nesting.
Is there any good daytime TV that can take your mind off it?

I'm sure there is something on that I can watch but Anya is watching Cbeebies at the moment before lunch and she will get cross if I turn Roly Mo off!!
Everyone who knows me tells me my tidying must be 'nesting' because I never tidy otherwise ;) Haven't actually made it into the kitchen yet to clean the cooker but thats what I'm going to do now before lunch.........

Aaarrrggghhh - just got back from the midwife and she was a pain in the backside - not my normal one. She practically told me I was lying when I said that they are inducing on Monday and then promptly phoned the delivery suite at the hospital to prove that they weren't!!! I told her that the consultant had said that she was going to induce on Monday and I had been specifically told to bring my bags in and that she had joked about me having my baby that afternoon (she delivered Anya and she only took 4 hours!).
So the good mood I was in this morning has just evaporated  Going to take my frustrations out on the ironing I think!

I fear for your shirts!!

Take a deep breath and say to yourself 'its not my fault that the substitute midwife is a numpty, its just the way she is' then stick on Queen Greatest Hits and get ironing.

Warning-when using the iron for a microphone try not to scold your mouth.

That really cheered me up :D. I now have the image of me going to hospital and explaining why I have an iron scold on my mouth - hee hee hee:D
The substitute midwife really was a numpty but not going to think about her now

when I had Eden we had just moved back to Yorkshire from London and our house was a total wreck so we'd moved in to my mums until it was ready. It had been derelict and we were rushing to get things sorted out so that we could get the furniture out of storage. There were ten weeks to get the builders in and out again, get decorated, the furniture in and so that I could have my much longed for homebirth. I have never in my whole life worked so hard. The builders took 9.5 weeks and I still thought I'd be able to get the decorating finished, carpets layed and have everything ready. Needless to say I was still frantically painting at 5pm. I poped back to mums to put the kids to bed and have some tea and then I began to suspect that we might not make the deadline. At 7pm I went back to the house to do more painting and by 10pm I knew I'd better give up. Eden was born at (mums) home at 1am.
I'll never know where I got the extra stregnth from in those 10 weeks. I did my fair share of nesting!!!
The funny thing is, the bits of painting that never got finished befor she was born only got done last year (Eden is 6 now). I just never had the energy once she arrived! so swirly my advice to you is take advantage of the nesting... it will keep you busy and you'll never have time once the baby is here.
Looking forward to hearing your news!!

try eatting pineapple or a hot curry

that what i was told

i was induced, when i got to the hospital they found i was already dilated so they broke my waters and put me on a drip, from start to finish took 3 hours but i couldn't move, and i got told off for sitting forward!

i'm sure you'll be fine

and let us know when the baby gets here

Is sex a natural way of being induced ?

Was on some tv program the other day...

"Is sex a natural way of being induced ?

yes in theory it can induce, because semen contains prostaglandin, which is the substance applied to the cervix to induce labour..... however, it will only work if the womans cervix is ready to dilate anyway, as the amounts are only small.

Yes sex is a good way of naturally inducing labour - the gel they use to induce mimics the hormone found in semen! Just thought you ought to know that!!
I'm hoping that when i arrive they will find out that I am dilated enough to break my waters - don't fancy a membrane sweep at all
I will let you all know what happens!!

Edited to add - beadsbydesign obviously typed much quicker than me!!

Ah well - the baby will come out no matter what.
BTW - If anyone wants the placenta then I can save it for you!!!!

I for one am really excited at the prospect of a new forum baby!!
wishing you a really great birth!
When I was nursing (13 years ago... how time flies...) we used to freeze the placentas and then they were sent to a cosmetics firm who made them into lipsticks! (and I swear that is true!!!)
Anyway, in between the changing nappies and feeds I hope you let us know how you get on.
Take care!

Update - they haven't induced yet so I'm a bit annoyed and I'm back at home in a foul mood!!! The consultant did a membrane sweep though so hopefully that might start something off and if it doesn't then I am definitely booked in at 8.30 on Friday. So I've eaten a whole pineapple this morning and I'm going to have a super hot curry for tea - so fingers crossed!

o poor you. It is really hard doing that wait at the end. It got me so depressed in that last week with my middle child. It's been 9 months, but those last few days are awful. Everyone you see goes "not had it yet?" I hid away as much as possible.
Just keep active and i guess running around after Anya will help. I also promise not to come on here and write "have you had that baby yet?" every time I log on!!

Well I think you were right - the baby does like pineapple and curry cos it hasn't come out yet!! Not long to wait now though - 8.30 tomorrow morning is when I'm going in but they probably won't be able to do anything until late afternoon but here's hoping a baby will arrive by Monday!!

I hope the experience is a thoroughly spiritual one.

I've not been keeping up with the goings on here so I'm a bit late to be wishing you all the best, and as pain free as any delivery can be. :D

Just for a wee tiny moment it got me all warm inside thinking of a newborn................... and then reality kicked in :o me! a mom again.............NEVER!!! I've had my time.;)
