i normally spend about £30 but my lampworking kit recently cost me £130 plus a shed to make them in at £300, then when my shed turns up i've got to insulate it and get a workbench and chair! this months an expensive one

I am just sorting out my accounts for last year and I am shocked at how much I have spent!
Luckily I am getting my jewellery sold as well but as this is my first year I have definitely made quite a loss!
I do need to curb my spending and spend time doing projects with beads & stuff that I have bought before I go drooling for more!

are you really asking us to confess in public how much we spend?????? ha ha
I don't even tell my husband - craft stuff is much easier to hide than clothes (he always spots new outfits!) -no having to say 'I've had this ages' as he has no idea what's lurking in my cupboard!!
I find card making so addictive and definitely need rehab to sort myself out!, I think I shall start a craft-a-holics anonymous so I can proudly stand up and say my name is Ruth and I'm a craft a holic / spend a holic!!!!!!!
Just when I think I really don't need anymore dies / punches / papers etc out pops another fantastic product that I really HAVE to have and most of the time it just sits there in the cupboard waiting to be used!
Latest spend bit boring but essential was at the Paper Mill - (if anybody goes there they have an offer on of buy three boxes for £18) so spent £18 yesterday. ;)
Happy spending!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my normal spending is around £20 per month, but I don't always buy things every month.
Lately, it has been alot more in preparation for my first craft fair: £80 on two fantabulous display cases, £30 on 3 bangle bars, to show off my bracelets, £15 on a ring tray with glass top, £5 on business cards, and £12 on two leaflet holders and business card holder.
Blimey that's £142 in just a couple of weeks! That's it, I'm going into hiding. Oh, but I've got to buy some more beads to make the jewellery!! Where's that flexible friend of mine....

Just looked at the second biggest beads I bought from the same place and they are chipped too!!
No reply to my email yesterday either!
So much for trying to save money, I suppose thats what I get for being a money grabber!
Oh well, its another lesson learnt.

I've only started making jewellery in march and opened by ebay shop in May and made £300 ( give or take a few pounds ) and i have spent every single penny on more materials.
) And no, its perfectly normal to love shiny bits of glass !!!
Is it wrong to get quite excited waiting for the postman to come because you know you're beads are just in ???:o

Sad isn't it ???
£300 sounds great but its all just been paid back out as i started my prices really low to get my feedback rating up and get some regular customers so hopefully it will eventually even out.
Re orders not turning up, i ordered red swarovski crystals from ebay ( uk seller ) last week as i had an order of 20 bracelets in Englands world cup colours, the seller advertises that she will post the same day as payment is received for next day delivery, i'm still waiting !!!!!!!!!! Despite 6 emails, i have heard nothing. So i have had to buy them again from another seller who has promised me then for this morning so i am waiting patiently as this customer needs her bracelets for 30th so i must post them today,
fingers crossed !!!

Its so annoying when they dont communicate!!
Im waiting for a refund cheque from an ebay seller which was meant to be sent last week!Still no sign.
Even so, well done to you for selling your stuff, Im so jealous of the poeple on here who are selling there wares.

Have you tried ebay ?
What i did was offer a free gift with every purchase and i started my prices low so i did run at a loss but i have got regular customers now so fingers crossed.
The fee's can be crippling so i opened a shop which only costs £6 per month and you can list items for as little as 3p. So i put most of my items in my shop and just put a few up for auction so buyers tend to visit your shop.
I definitely would recommend you try ebay without a shop and see how it goes.

Hi,
i'm new here, lol
Anyway, I usually have a splurge, and then I'm ok for a few months, but in saying that, I can't craft very much/fast because of my condition, so as things take longer, inevitably they last longer.
I'm terrible, most times that I go out, I'm bargain hunting for embellishments or something.
I find Paper Mill shop and The Works tend to be my main shopping places, with QVC and ebay etc, occasionally Argos, and places like ribbon shops too.
I could spend a fortune if I hd it though, - there's always something else we need, lol

I bought a differnt kind of tip for my soldering iron and some more microscope slides, luckily that only came to around £20.
I worked out the otherday, after ive paid out for car/insurance etc, I only have £60 a month to spend on everything else, food, clothes, craft, leisure.
Its a wonder i save anything!!!

I just sorted out my invoices, putting them in a folder with proper sections and everything!!
I have been buying craft stuff for about a year, so I added up the totals and it came to £300!! Im sure it should be at least double that.
Maybe Ive lost some invoices. Then again thats not including what I buy from stalls and hobbycraft
