Another day, another question from me! I have been asked by a primary school teacher to come in for one of their ' world of work' days and talk to the children about card making. This would include a demonstration too and involve me helping out with the cards the children were making. As an ex teacher I have a rough idea of what to do but any advice would be great! Also what should I charge? I have NO idea of what I should be asking - I obviously don't want to ask for too much but then again I don't want to appear too cheap either. The school will be a 50 odd mile round trip for me so I will need to take into account the petrol costs too.
Thanks in advance

Charge the cost of travel and a minimum wage hourly rate.Totally reasonable.
Sounds like fun.Would they provide the stuff the kids will use?

It does sound like fun - it will be nice to do some crafty things with children in a classroom without having my 'teacher' head on! All the stuff will be provided for the children as the school can get it cheaper than me and they will have most of it in.
Just got to decide what my hourly rate is now!!

Minimum wage is something like £5.30(I think)so have that as a starting point.
Suppose it depends how generous you are feeling.
Just be aware they may ask you back if your price is low and expect to be charged the same low amount again.
