Hi there,

Until now i have been free forming my pendants ,, so have just got a delivery from slumpy in the states of some moulds.

I put some in last night but they have come out all spikey,, Does this mean I have over fused them??,, i dont have a timer on my kiln, so i just use my eyes.

Just thought i would as cos i dont want to be wasting loads of glass

Hi, Spikes usually mean you fired too hot. So I don't know if the mould keeps the glass hotter than on a shelf. That said I always get spikes if using a mould so what I do is refire the piece without the mould and that gets rid of any spikes. Usually I have to do more than one firing of a piece if I use a mould - that may just be me tho :D. HTH
