Hello there. I'd like to make a wrap/pasmina from a lovely velvet but I'm not sure if there's a name for they type of velvet I need. I don't want the stiff type used for curtains and I don't want it crushed velvet or with too much nylon in it. I want it nice and floppy but luxurious.
I'd like to have a go at sewing some beads on too. Many thanks. xxx

Hello and (welcome) to the forum. You could try Cheap Fabrics (http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk) they have quite a lot of velvets, crushed is the softest or possibly silk, this normally comes undyed but is expensive.

You are probably looking for Dress velvet. You don't say where you are so a bit difficult to sugest shops. It is best to be able to feel the fabric befor buying when it comes to velvets.
