View Full Version : Wheres my order?!

I placed an order about 3 weeks ago for a more than usual sum but not a fortune to a company that had helped me out alot with my questions via email, getting lots of helpful replies on a regular basis.
They said it would be 2-3 weeks, fair enough.
I got impatient and emailed them asking if it would still be 3 weeks, by then it had been 2 weeks and they emailed back saying id get them the next day which I thought was nice and a welcome surprise.
All I got the next day was an invoice letter. The order has been paid for as I can see from my banking details.
I have emailed them a number of times since just being friendly and saying ' hello, the order isnt here, any updates' etc
No reply.
It has now been the full 3 weeks.
This morning I faxed them, no reply, either by fax or email.
My question is, at what point do I phone them up and get nasty?
Its a bit odd as they had always replied before.
Ive made it clear I dont mind waiting but Im just curious as to why the order hasn arrived if someone said that it would arrive early.
Whadayathink?

My question is, at what point do I phone them up and get nasty?
If I was you I'd ring them just to actually get a response from them, they can choose to ignore emails etc but can't blank you on the phone (hopefully!) but don't get nasty with them just yet cos it's probably just lost in the post.
If it is lost then it's the companys responsibility to claim compensation so you shouldn't be out of pocket
Agreed tho about the shocking customer service, ignoring you like that is just plain rude.

Especailly as they had been so chatty before.
Luckily Im not in a business where I need the order here and now but if I were id be getting worried.
Im not really a nasty person and me being angry is quite funny as I have no idea what to say.So so far i have been pleasent an will continue to do so for this week, I may open a can of whoop*rse on them next week tho.
Odd how I got the letter but no order.

That is pretty poor service. I agree, ring them and get some real answers and if they seem to be fobbing you off then ask for a refund and order elsewhere.

I agree with the others and would give them a quick phone-call, that way you can don't have to hang about waiting for a reply to an email.
Agreed with everything said about making phone call

Again pretty much agree with what has already been said - the sad thing is though sometimes you have to be a bit more forceful to get an answer if you are too nice they will think they can push you around a bit etc... I would have been very worried if I was told that an order was going to be with me and it was not after a specified amount of time especially if I had already paid for it - Have you dealt with them before?
If not then ring them straight away - you do not have to be nasty but you can make the point that you are unhappy with the length of time your order is taking and next time you would appreciate a call or at least an email informing you if there is a delay. I am always happy as long as the communication is kept going - delays happen; that is business and if they let you know then you can let your customers know etc... but if there is no communication then that is when I get cross!!!!
Good luck with it and I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Surprise surprise.
Ive just got a reply.
They say they have just seen my fax which Im more than sure i sent on Thursday last week!
Apparently the PO carded me on the 12th and 13th of April.
There hasnt been any sign of any card. But Ive been given a consignment and phone number to arrange for delivery.

Im a bit annoyed that they didnt track the package over a week ago when I first said it hadnt arrived.
I could either arrange for the package to be delivered again but there is no guarantee that anyone will be in to sign for it.Or ask my parents which they have kindly agreed to collect it for me.
That's been sloppy communications with your supplier, would make me consider not using them again. OK it wasn't their fault that you didn't get the parcel when said you would, you were out! but to reply to your query a week after it was sent is bad.
I've had times like that when couriers have said they left a card when they didn't.
I work for home full time and I've had a courier say that I wasn't home to receive a parcel when I was. I had the greatest of pleasure in telling them they were talking bull**** (pardon the language) since I work from home and I have 3 dogs that go nuts when they see/hear anyone and that they couldn't have missed them since they have to pass a full length window and dogs to get to the front door.
Good that your parents can help out for you

You swear away, I love it when the customer is right and the 'whoever' is talking out of their bumhole.
the latest update.
My parents just called to say the PO had no recognition of the consignment number,so, I called the number that the supplier had given me, the couriers had no record of the number either so they asked for my postcode which luckily matchd up with a parcel they had for me.
Its being redelivered tomorrow, I just hope someones in to receive it.
I think Il have to get things sent to my work in future as I seem to always be here(heavy sigh)
Phew! not far from the end of the saga!!
I had a parcel sent all the way back to Australia as the Parcelforce guy didn't leave any card TWICE! and by the time I realised there was a problem, it was too late, they had put it economy back to Australia, which means about 4 months on the sea!
I can tell you I track my packages now and always ask for the number if it's a courier or registered.
By any luck, you'll be playing tomorrow night with all your new stuff!

I've had a similar experience but from the other way round - I sent a parcel out recently after Emailing the customer to advise on what day to expect it.
I then got an Email back a couple of days later asking when the order was likely to arrive. However, I had already tracked it from my end as having already been received and signed for by them!!!
So naturally I was a bit dubious that they were trying to pull a fast one so told her to check as it had definitely arrived. Apparently the lady's brother had signed for it the day before and not told her......how she didnt manage to fall over the extremely large and heavy box I do not know...............still all ended ok.
Have you rung them yet? You are perfectly within your rights - its your money after all.
Oh dear! she must have been quite red in the face when she discovered what happened and I'm sure the brother got a mouthful from her. I too would have been dubious about it too, but all's well that ends well!

That happens here too! We didn't receive our mail on Thursday but got a huge bundle on Friday, and it was marked on the envelopes that there was no reply. Thing was I was in all day on Thursday as Argos was delivering my new fridge-freezer. The only time I went out was at 3pm to collect my daughter...................so unless they turned then............that said our mail is getting later & later each day.
Gone are the days when you stayed into 10am to see if the parcel you were waiting for was going to turn up.
And I have also had a card delivered, then had the hassle of going to the delivery depot. It is a nightmare there as parking is practically non-existent and then you get told that the parcel hasn't made it's way back there yet!
Seahorse, if I was you I would phone them. Letters, emails, faxes are not as good as the spoken word. Speak to someone in charge and tell them how unhappy you are, you don't have to be nasty about it just be direct and calm. You have paid for your good and even though the delay was maybe not entirely all their fault, they have a duty to follow up orders. I would let them know that you will have to consider ordering from them again.

Happy to listen to all rants and raves, we need to steam off sometimes.
It's one thing willing to wait and have the inconvenience when it's not urgent but I'd seriously consider as to whether they are who I'd order from if I were doing a commission within a certain time scale.
I used to order all the time from a certain supplier but when they started telling me it was a 3 -4 week lead time I changed supplier, a little more expensive but the cost difference was worth the faster delivery time. (2 days)
It's always the nice people who get walked over!!!! remember that.

Id been emailing them everyday for over a week until they emailed back saying they just saw my fax!!
Surely they should have chased it up for me.
Oh enough of my complaining.
Today is the day,im assuming if they deliver at my home address and no one is in they will leave a calling card(that we didnt get before)so at least we can go from there.
Im in 2 minds as to wether to tell the company that ive received the order if and when I do.Doubt theyd be bothered.

I know what you mean about things not being delivered etc. I went away over the weekend and came back to find a red slip through the door saying that they had tried to deliver a parcel. Fine I thought - got to go out anyway so popping into the delivery office won't be too bad. What my postman did though was put the parcel into my daughters sandpit which had a great big puddle in it and very, very wet sand! You can guess that the limited edition dvd that my husband ordered is now ruined because it got wet through!! How stupid though to put something that is in a cardboard box into a sandpit full of wet sand - arrrggghhhh!! I'll be writing to Royal Mail soon I think.......:(
It feels good to get that off my chest!!

Seahorse - if you do return them all be aware that due to distance selling regulations you are entitled to your money back for both the items and the postage to get the items to you - I don't think that you are eligible for what it will cost to send it back to them though. Also under DSR you are allowed to change your mind within 7 days and get your money back - just in case they don't want to refund you!
I hope it gets sorted out soon

I would avoid the first company with a barge pole.
Things will and do go wrong and that is a fact. I've had two internet based bead and findings stores for two year + now. I have sent out thousands of orders. Although i pack up my orders by hand and use copiopus amounts of bubble wrap and packaging occassionally a bead will break or a finding might not close correctly. That's life. I cannot mind read though. A simple email or phone call is all it takes. Once I know there is a problem I can rectify matters. I send out replacements in the next post. I have been lucky that the clients understand that things will go wrong.
I believe that when things go wrong you see the true colours of a seller. But remember they do not know something is wrong until you tell them. Give them a chance to rectify matters and if is not speedily done, then ask for a refund and go else where.

You need to start emailing them more often - start with a couple this morning and then up them to every hour or so until they get so sick of you that they will reply just to get you to stop emailing them. It's what my husband does and it works :D

Im too laid back, one of my many flaws.
What annoys me (and Im sure Im reading too much into this)there email replies are polite but quite blunt.
At this point in the game i expect them to be kissing my butt!

What a surprise, the order hasnt turned up!!
Come on, do us a favour and ring them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Emails obviously don't work with them! I still can't believe you've not shamed them, that's appalling customer service, they should read this thread and be thankful you've not mentioned their name! ...and send your stuff asap!

Looked at the glass pieces, they are fantastic, I hate to say it ut better than the pieces I got form the alternate glass company I found after the first disaterous batch.
Apparently they have a new machine now hence them looking great.
Despite my annoyance I emailed back saying they were great.
Now the dilemma is do I use them again but risk having to wait about a month plus they cost a couple of pence more then the other company and I have to order 100 at a time or do I go for the alternate company where I can order as many as I like, for a bit cheaper adn I get them within a couple of weeks??!!

I know that sometime the wholesalers are also waiting for stock to arrive from the US or elsewhere. For example I ordered stock in Feb. After about 4 delivery dates quoted to me, I am due to have it delivered tomorrow. UUURGH (I could pull my hair out) Sometimes it can be an all round frustrating waiting game. Your supplier probably wants to give you good service but has his/her hands tied.
I would get nasty or stroppy by demanding a honest answer, if they dont reply insist on a refund.
