Hello

i am currently in the process of setting up my e-commerce website for selling my jewellery online.

Does anyone know the best place to get a terms and conditions, privacy and a terms of use policy?

I have had a look on google but they all seem to be on here for astranomical prices and i am not sure what one will be the best for me...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

your best bet would probably be to have a look around at other sites and write down notes, then make your own ones.

I was just about to say - adapt someone elses! :D

Also, you may want to read about:

UK eCommerce legislation

and

Distance Selling Regulations

(thought I'd post those links in any case, as useful for others in the future)!

Good luck!

I got mine off of Business link, they had example ones on there for you to use, only one I had to write myself was the returns and postage.

The ones on business link are pretty good and in depth - have at look at my website, and you can copy them from there, or go direct to business link yourself!

If you have ever shopped online you will always have had to agree to terms and conditions etc. tesco, craft shops etc. Just reword them and your covered + add in bits / take stuff out that you need / dont need

I am having a look on the business link website but can't seem to find it? could you point me in the right direction?

Thank you for recomending this website. since i registered with the inland revenue i have not heard anything else?!
I registered my business in sept 2008 and have heard nothing regarding tax returns or any kind of other information apart from i owed them £9.40 in national insurance?!

I was a bit worried about doing this as i copied the statements from a friends website and changed the wording but she told me off for doing as EVERYTHING on her website is copyright to her?

No worries, it's a very useful site! I registered in Sept 08 also, and have heard nothing except a request for NI money - I had hoped for some kind of welcome pack.

Business Link website seems to be playing up, but I searched google for business link privacy policy, and the sample one was second on the list. If I can get the site to work later, will post the links. They also do a Terms and conditions of website usage too.

I got mine from a website called Website Law. They allow you to copy their document as long as you give them a link at the bottom of it saying that's where you got it from. Or you can pay and not have the link.
