Hi everyone. I'd like to know how to make a tie/wc combo. The ties look relatively easy to figure out. Are waistcoats hard to make?
---i found a pattern for the waistcoat
i think it would mae a useful, not too heavy, gift to send to a friend in japan!

I made a waistcoat once and it was relatively easy when I had sorted out how to line it at the same time. I was fortunate. I had the man around and I could pin it on him to get it right.

I love making waistcoats, they easy enough for a quick make but complicated enough to keep you interested!
I found the choice of fabric for the back and the lining in relation to the front fabric the problem. Too flimsy and the front droops...I ended up using Taffeta for the mediumweight fabrics I used for the front. And don't worry if they are a little out you can't tell!!!!:mf:

Hi Renata, just a little thought...how about making a simple waistcoat/tie card? If you're interested I could post a piccie of one...although mine is a ready made card it looks easy enough to just fold, cut and then fold the 'collar' over, so you could make your own :)
