Hi
I am looking to come up with a few picture frame designs in stained glass that I can make.
The only thing I can't work out is how to keep the picture in the frame.
I can build a channel on the back of the glass that I can slide the picture in to but picture frames that I have seen always seem to have a card piece in the back with a flap that can be folded out for standing up on a flat surface or that you leave in if you want to hang the picture up on a wall. The more classy ones might be covered in felt with a hinged flap.
Does anyone know if you can buy these card/felt picture frame backs seperately or will I have to buy a cheap picture frame and canibalise it to fit in the frame I am making.
Thanks
Dave

Found a place in the UK and can't believe how cheap these things are!!
Got five 5"x7" and five 8"x6" for less than a fiver.
Awaiting them to be delivered and will let you know what sor of quality they are.
Site is skinners-cutting.co.uk
They also seem to do a range of cards, card embelishments, craft boxes and such stuff
May be worth a visit if nobody has come across them before.
If you have then please let me know what they are like for service

Just received by strut backs. Delivery is quick and quality fine. Finish is plain 2mm MDF so not ideal for higher quality stuff but still ... the price is right.
One tip for anyone wanting to get hold of these things ...
The struts on the back are offered at things like 'cut to size, 1/2" oversize, 1" oversize' etc the 'oversize' comments seems to relate to the width of the picture frame boarder you want around the picture. I ordered some 'cut to size' and if I was to put a 1/2" frame around the picture the strut back would be 1/2" above the floor which would make the angle of the frame rediculous when it was stood up. I should be able to cut down the strut backs I have to make a non standard picture size but bear this in mind.
We live and learn !!
