Hi - this is my first post on this forum!

I've been thinking of making my own wedding invitations, but I really like the embossed text you get on the 'officially' made ones. I've got some of those embossing powders, which are great with the stamps, but I was wondering if anyone knew if you can create embossed writing with them.. or another way?
I've heard of inkjet embossing paper, but was wondering what that was like - is it nice enough for use on wedding invitations?.. I rather like textured paper rather than 'normal' stuff.

Im sure if you go to a photocopying shop they will have examples of different effects used on wedding invitations and what they can provide for you.
May be worth asking if they have the embossing paper or if theyd use it if you provide it.

Im sure you can get ruber stamps that have the layout of a wedding invite.May be worth getting one and giving it a go with the embossing powders.

Yes

Seahorse is right you can get rubber stamps for all manner of wedding related stationery which can be embossed to look nice.

You could also buy an 'embossing pen' which you can write with (assuming your handwriting is good) then sprinkle your embossing powder over and heat to get an embossed handwritten effect.

There are also blank cards available which have the words professionally embossed onto them already which you can then decorate at will. These are beautiful cards but very pricy - I am going to be selling these at some point in the future. Check out the ranges on syntego's website. An example of one is in the link below...

thanks - they're both really helpful. It's definitely worth looking into other printers, because anything wedding-related is generally going to be stupidly inflated prices! It would be good if there were printer cartridges with the 'ink-it-up' ink in -the clear stuff, which I could powder over, but I will have a go with the handwriting pen as well.

I make wedding invitations - well just starting out in the business! - and I was concerned about the prices of wedding 'bits' too but ebay are really good for bits and pieces. I spent ages trying to find certain peel offs and looked at several shops and loads of websites - ebay had them much cheaper than other peel offs and actually had the ones I wanted.

Embossing is great fun but can be time consuming if you have lots of repetitive cards to do. Also by the time you have bought the stamps and powders for the different wedding cards it may have been less expensive to buy the cards already done.

Hi - Create and Craft sell embossing paper for ink jet printers. Print out text or picture, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat. Code number is 922429. Not sure if this is too late to help you but it might be useful for other people
