Hessian???

Hi,
I'm new to fabric work, and i was wondering if Hessian can be easily painted on or stained? and if so, if there are any paint products that work best?

Hiya, I cant say Ive worked with hessian but I believe i know the fabric you mean.I can only imagine from its large weave that painting on it would be difficult.Dying it may be an option.
Theres a great shop called fabricland that sells material like hessian, the ladies are very knowledgable so may be worth phoning a branch and asking what they recomend.
