while carving a name for a friend i managed to put the chiesl into my hand(ouch). will see how it looks in the morning and if bad will go to hospital for a couple of stiches or i will just put a couple of drops of superglue in it.
that will teach me to wear the glove i bought so i do not put my carving tools into my hand.
dont want any sympathy was my own fault.:nopity:

I was taking wallpaper off with a scraper, and I thought I'll just do this last little bit, and then my hand slipped, urgh! blood everywhere, I have a scar now :mummy:
The worst thing was, I was arguing with boyf because we were late for going out somewhere, and he gave me no sympathy 'cos he'd been telling me for half an hour to stop! I felt so stupid :nopity:

Oooh a couple of years ago i was at this thing called Weekend in the Woods in Ireland and i did the wood carving course. It was great but i managed ot put the chisel through my finger as well! Trip to the medical person, who was also the info box person...and the tea maker and all sorts lol!

I know you said 'no sympathy' but how's your hand? I always find stuff like that hurts more on the second day :nopity:

Hi hogey hope you're feeling better and there's no lasting damage. Always brings to mind my tutor at college trying to drum into us "if both your hands are behind the blade you cant cut your self." Hmmm is that why i don't have a single finger without a scar

My left hand wishes I owned such a thing and wore it all the time!

I can see them on eBay: are they something I could buy on-line, or are they like normal gloves where the size needs to be just right? I've never seen chain-mail gloves in a shop: what sort of shop would sell them?

if you ask at your local butchers they should be able to tell you where to get a chain mail glove as boners will use them ...... i am supposed to use one in work when we are working with mild steeland titanum as it is the same thickness as a razor blade!!! but i have such small hands that i can't get one to fit so i have to manage with kevlar ones

Doh!
Unfortunately, that doesn't list anything near me and I want to try them on for size: then I'd go for eBay, probably.
Thank you for helping.

been away for a while. i found my chain mail glove on ebay cost me a tenner. was lucky with the size part of it. fits me just right apart from inbetween the fingers(which was soon taken care of with a pair of wire cutters) now it fits great. i have found some in a catalouge from seton. pricey though around 100 quid.good luck finding them
