I hope, someone will be able to help or give me some advice.
I am looking for some kind of "HotMarks Tool" but wonder, if a soldering iron would do the same job.Provided it heats to over 750 degrees centigrade I believe, it should do the job I want to do.
But...I looked online all evening and could not find one which goes hotter than 450 degrees Centigrade.
Any suggestions would be most welcome

Are you after a tool that will make a burnt mark on wood?
Look under pyrography supplies.

Sorry - missed this. To solder at 750c or above it takes a torch. There's always the manual way, stick an iron in a fire and burn on. :)

I'm bad enough with paper cuts and knives so I'll keep well away from those temperatures.

Sounds like fun though
