Looking for specific beads...

I have a customer who is looking for some specific beads to make a necklace and as I don't sell enough beads to order them in specially and as she doesn't have the internet to look herself I thought it could be worth asking here.

She has a book called 'Dare to Bead' by Heather Laithwaite and wants the 2 largest beads on p.38 - for those who don't have the book (possibly all of you) they are described as....

Magnetic facetted pillar beads 5mm x 8mm
Round, slightly opaque pink glass beads 6mm

If anyone here can supply these or know where I can get them online now is your chance to shout!

I'm not making any money out of this as I'll just pass on the actual cost to her so I don't need wholesale prices necessarily. She's in her 70's and only started beading a few months ago - she brought in some of her work to show me today and they are amazing...you'd have thought she's been bead weaving for years - hope some of you can help her :)

Hi Natty does the book have a list of suppliers in the back... or has she already tried that route? Has she found anything close or is she determined only to have the same (might be tricky?). I do have some opaque 6mm pink round glass beads that might be similar but not the pillars ones.

BTW - how is the shop going?

Hi Mel thanks for your reply. Not sure if the book has a list of stockists although as she's elderly and doesn't drive or have the internet she's quite limited. Could you post a link to the pink beads you have as I have no idea where to look on your site :)

The shop's doing well, some days I hardly seem to stop and others I wonder where everyone is, I'm starting some card-making courses next week for beginners and nearly all the classes are fully booked :D

Yes looks like that kind of design but the wrong colour, she's looking for ones in black. Good detective work goldy1 :)

opps sorry thought ya wanted pink... could hematite work ? if not try your local pound shop they sometimes have the magnetic necklaces in there. I have had them in black befor but not sure on bead size.

Thanks Bea - she's just been in the shop and says they are exactly what she's after so I've ordered some for her :). Mel - I thought the 6mm beads were ideal but apparently she's after lighter pink with an opaque/pearl finish I so couldn't put any business your way today but I've got your site bookmarked for the next time she's looking for beads.

So still looking for 6mm light pink glass beads with an opaque/pearl finish :)
