Hi there, just wondering if anyone could help me here?
In November I've been invited to attend a 'Proper Present Party', by the PTA of a small school. Its a chance for parents and residents of the town to come buy Christmas presents early. I've never done anything like this before, I think it could be a good chance to get myself known out there in the community, but I don't know how many candles I should make!
Apparently the school that the event is in, there's 57 children on roll, so I'm guessing it won't exactly be heaving!!
The population of the surrounding area is probably no more than 10,000. But thats a big area, and it'll most likely only be the immediate neighbours to the school that may attend. So, on a guess, I'm thinking maybe between 100-200 people may attend this event. But I have no idea how many candles I should make! Anyone help me out here? Thanks!
Cathy :)

Tricky one that. It all depends on how many different styles, colours and scents you do. If you only do a couple of different shapes make up say 12 of each shape (if you only do 2 more than that and it's too much I think) in different colours and different scent. I def think 24 would be plenty. If you do melts &votives make up packs with 4 of each in them as well.

Remember to take along business cards to hand out and a notepad because you can always take orders if you don't have the right scent, colour, scent combination.

HTH.

Cheers.

I think you will find that in these small community schools the parental attenance is very high. Cliquey too so be warned. Some of my Grandchildren go to a school with 67 pupils and most of the parents are very involved with it.

I think it will be busier than you might think - if 50 children each bring a sibling, two parents and a grandparent, that's well over 200 people! I'd take about 30 - 40 candles, that'll show that you have a good range and you'll have plenty if people decide to buy. Also, with it being in a school, people are keen to buy things in order to support the school. Let us know how it goes! :) good luck!
