Hi
I went on a felt-making course through Rowan Yarns and got their book;
Shibori Knitted Felt by Alison Crowther-Smith
Alison ran the course too and it was great! You have to be able to knit but only really basic level, and then you felt the fabric in the washing machine. It's soooooooooo easy!
Obviously the book recommends Rowan's wools but Alison said that you can use other wools. If you find a fluffy (barbed) wool and test it by rubbing it between your fingers under hot water with a little washing up liquid or soap powder - if it matts up into a ball happily enough then it should felt. AT least that's the theory!
Hope this helps - there are some lovely things to make in the book too.

Hi Sara
I can highly recommend Quick & Clever Felting - it covers all sorts of felting, including wet, needle and fulling.
Or, Betz White's "Felt So Good" which is an excellent book covering fulling (ie. bunging your knitting in the washing machine on a hot wash and shrinking it into felt), with lots of lovely projects
You can get both of these books here (http://www.bloomingfelt.co.uk/felting-books-31-c.asp)
If you're interested in either - pm me and I'll give you a code to get a discount !! ;)

Thanks Sarah , I didn't think of going to the library saying that we only have a small one here and they don't stock many craft books !!

I have a friend who is a manager for Derbyshire libraries - I think I'm going to have to work on her to get her to order some fab craft books! That's all I do at work all day!
