Hi,
What is the best way to make a neat side 2 side hole in glass jewellery through the fusing process? I want to make slider pendants and perhaps bracelets.
I have tried fibre rope but it does not leave a neat channel – or maybe I am doing it incorrectly?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Terry

Hi there
The best way I have found is to use thinfire paper - roll it up like a tight scroll and glue into place.
I also used the rope and was really disappointed with it.
As long as you take your time and are neat, the thinfire paper is great. And remember to roll the paper really tightly, so will keep intact during the firing process.
Hope this helps, good luck.

And lastly (forgot to mention earlier)
Make sure you have the paper cut larger than the glass piece. The paper needs to hang over the overall glass piece.
Hope this makes sense

Hi
I agree with Goldieab, I also use thin fire and roll, but I put a piece of thick wire or sometimes nails in the roll to hold the shape.

Much easier and quicker method is to use 6mm or 3mm fibre paper!. . .just slice with a scalpel and layer and away you go! ;) cheaper than using your thinfire :D
