I want to make some little purses and am looking for some really nice quality, thickish 100% woolen felt to use.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable supplier please ? :)

I'm after some nice bright and breezy colours.

Have you tried Rainbow Silks (http://www.rainbowsilks.co.uk) they do almost 100% died felt pieces.

I bought mine from Paper and string (http://www.paper-and-string.co.uk) but it was a 70/30 wool viscose mix iirc.

I stock 100% wool felt. It's lovely and thick and all handmade. At the moment I've only got spotty and stripey in pink/blue and blue/green.

I've got a delivery of different colours coming next week (hopefully). PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Handmadepresents.co.uk as mentioned, but also Myriad online (http://www.myriadonline.co.uk/natural-wool-felt.php)and Waldorf Toys (http://www.waldorf-toys.com/english.php). I have use felt from all of these suppliers. I think Myriad and Waldorf Toys stock the same felt and it is good quality, uniform and a joy to work with.

The felt from Handmade presents tends to be thicker and has a more handcrafted feel which is lovely but the only problem I have had with their felt is the leaching of loose dye onto other fabrics. I was using some for applique once and Just a quick whiff of steam from the iron was enough to transfer the dye onto the fabric underneath. I tend to pre-wash these felts before use now. The good thing about Handmade presents is that you can buy it by the metre whereas the other suppliers only sell small sheets. I know I found another website that sells 100% wool felt (more like the Myriad stuff) by the metre but I can't find the link for it now! I will post it when I find it! HTH
